it's getting crazy!

Wow, the crunch is on! I have MANY projects and products that need making/finishing right now in time for upcoming shows and shops. One of which is Green Table Gifts Holiday Gala this coming Saturday. If anyone is local, stop on by and see the lovely things they will have to offer. Here's more info:

Ok, back to work for me, enjoy your Tuesday!

A little play time this weekend

I had a little time in the studio this weekend, working to fill some orders but also to be creative with some new pieces. One is for my vintage inspired line and the other is for my urban boutique line. Just got an order done and shipped so have some time this week to be spontaneous and put together some  more unique items. The urban boutique piece with the tassel will be going up in the etsy store shortly. Enjoy!

In the jewelry zone

I have been making jewelry all day, and am just about ready to call it good. Got quite a bit accomplished, so am feeling pretty good. Here's a peek at what was happening in the studio today:

I am working on some more vintage and woodland style pieces since I pretty much got cleaned out of product on Saturday. Aren't the little initial necklaces adorable? And I really like the pinecone and acorn necklaces, so cute! All of these are available in my etsy shop.

That's it for now, have a great rest of your Wednesday!

Pretty things

On Sunday my honey and I went to A Second Look consignment store in Phoenix. It was a lot of fun and I found a couple of goodies and spent about $7.00. Love it!

A productive weekend

Hi all, hope your weekend was enjoyable! Mine was very busy! I was a vendor in a vintage fair at Green Table Gifts in Tempe, AZ. It was so much fun! Lots of lovely folks there, good connections made, some really great customers, and sunshine galore. Here are a few pics of my booth there:

They are such wonderful ladies at the shop, and I am excited to announce that I am now a vendor at the store! They took all the stock I had left that day for the shop, so I will be busy this week making more pieces for upcoming shows and online.

Some jewelry

Today I have been working on jewelry for the show this weekend. I am very excited and think it will be a lot of fun. Here is some of what I have been working on lately:

These pieces are at Bunky Boutique in downtown Phoenix, a new shop for me which I am very excited to be in. It's so well curated and on trend! If you are in the area, check it out.

Some new paintings

Hello all, I know it's been awhile since I wrote on this blog. I struggle with keeping up with it as you can tell, but I have decided to follow the "blog without guilt" philosophy and post when I can.

I have a couple of new Buddha paintings that I delivered to The Orange Table last week. I am very happy with both and hope they find good homes.

I also finished a painting I started some time ago. I really like the feel of it. Here it is:
This one is hanging at the Fair Trade Cafe in downtown Phoenix right now.

I am working this week on some jewelry for a craft show I'm doing on Saturday at Green Table Gifts in Tempe, AZ. It should be a lot of fun, and lots of cool items to look at and enjoy.

I will have some new jewelry pieces to share later. Enjoy the rest of your day!

new paintings

I have been working on my Buddha series this week and have two new paintings to show you. One is hanging at The Orange Table in Old Town Scottsdale, AZ and the other I am putting up on dailypaintworks.com.

I am really enjoying this series and have ideas for several more versions.

Here's the one that's hanging at The Orange Table:

Today I am meeting a friend to shop the Jerry's Artarama paint sale. All this painting has left me a little low on supplies!

Fiber bead love

I've been working with felt and beads quite a bit over the last few days, spurred on by my appointment at Made boutique here in Phoenix. They are taking a few of my pieces to try out and see if they sell. I pitched them the fabric, felt, vintage pieces line that I did for a shop in Portland, OR that is now closed. The gal at Made seemed to like what she saw, so today I dropped off four pieces. Fingers crossed! If you live in the Phoenix area, I suggest stopping into the store. It's a great little shop filled with handmade goodness. Yummy!

As I was working on pieces for them, I got a whole head full of new ideas to try. I've made some new pieces that I really like, here they are:

I'm liking the boho-india inspired look of some of the pieces. And I have an idea for a whole series of seed pod inspired pieces using beads and embroidery as embellishment. I'm getting together with a friend tomorrow and am going to bring these pieces with me to get some feedback.

This week I also stopped into one of my new favorite stores, Green Table Gifts on Warner Road in Tempe for some advice on using Annie Sloan wax. The gals there are so nice and helpful! It feels like you've just dropped in on a friend when you stop in. Here's some photos of their place:

Full of vintage-y goodness!

And I'll close with some vintage goodness of my own; a new necklace and bracelet that are vintage-inspired:

Hopefully I will be getting some of these pieces up into my etsy shop soon.

A great weekend

I can't believe it's Monday already! The weekend was a whirlwind of visiting, swimming and movie-going, and it was a blast.

Saturday we visited dear friends of mine who I haven't seen in a few months. Time has a way of getting away from all of us! We ate a lovely meal at their home, talked for several hours and had the most relaxing time. Then in the evening another friend came over for dinner and swimming. We had a huge storm Saturday night and sat outside under the patio cover watching the magnificent lightening storm, which we get treated to during monsoon season. We finally went in when it started to rain, and boy did it!

Sunday another dear, dear friend visiting from out of town spent the day with us. We went to see the movie Red 2, and it didn't disappoint. Later we went to our weekly poker get together, ate delicious food, played some cards and laughed. It was a very full weekend and I enjoyed it immensely.

Today it's back to work. I am working on some new pieces for my first store that I will be in here in Phoenix. It's called Made, and I drop my jewelry by on Thursday. I'm doing something different for them, some pieces incorporating felt, sewing and beads. I'm very excited and hope it all goes well.

Tomorrow I will post some new photos of various projects.

Sick time

I've been out of commission the past several days due to a nasty stomach bug that has knocked the stuffing out of me. I'm feeling a bit better, but so tired and weak. Hopefully I will improve a little each day.

On the positive side, I hung my work at Pita Jungle, a great healthy restaurant here in the Valley on Monday this week. It went very smoothly and I'm quite pleased with how my work looks on the walls. I will be moving to different locations throughout the month. I'm very excited about this opportunity and am looking for additional venues to keep the ball rolling.

In the meantime, I have been working on jewelry as well. Here are a few photos of my newest pieces:

I love the vintage look and the combo of pretty vintage pieces and letters and numbers. I may have to make one to keep! They all went out to Camp Hollyhock, one of my stores in Portland, OR.

Tea time

Here's today's painting for dailypaintworks.com. It's another encaustic piece I did a little while back. I love the softness of encaustic, how it blends and smooths.

In other news I will be showing my paintings at another local restaurant in a couple of weeks here in Phoenix called Pita Jungle. Very excited about this opportunity! Don't have all the details yet, but it will be for a month and the art will move around their various locations.

Today's painting for dailypaintworks.com. It's called Finale, and it was made during my foray into encaustics. I love the look of encaustic pieces, but it turned out to be a bit more involved than I was ready for at the time. Not saying I'll never get into it, but right now I'm happy doing mixed media acrylic pieces.

This is the latest painting going up on dailypaintworks.com. It's called "Smile", and it's mixed media and acrylic on a 6"x6"canvas. I really love this piece, it's going to be hard to sell it! Old cameras are just so graphically interesting and one of my favorite things.
