summer hike
Yesterday I went with a few friends on a hike to Beacon Rock in Washington State, about 45 minutes drive from Portland. What a ride! The highway runs parallel to the river and all around are breathtaking views of the Gorge area.
The hike is straight up and a little less than a mile long, with amazing views of the valley, river and mountains as you went up. I took photos all the way up, so you could hike with me. Hope you enjoy it!

Gorgeous scenery!
It really is, isn't it? I'm not originally from this part of the US, so I'm soaking in the beauty while I'm here.
I'm sure you are also surrounded by beauty in your corner of the world. I read the Country Living British version and Country Homes and Interiors magazines every month and just wallow in the gorgeousness of your country.
